Wyden pushed on 'No Pain Act'

In an August 20, 2021 letter on behalf of the Retirees Executive Board, Currin asked Wyden for “your help in combatting the worsening problems by implementing federal policies thatgive Americans alternatives to prescription opiates.”

The NOPAIN Act in the U.S. Senate (S.586), she explained for Wyden, “would allow Medicare patients coming out of surgery to have access to opiod alternatives.” The proposed legislation, introduced by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) has 29 co-sponsors, including Oregon’s other senator, Jeff Merkley, who added his name last May.

In a separate letter to Merkley, Currin thanked him for adding his support for the bill.
